Drew Picked to Repeat in '09 in Landmark Conference


MADISON, N.J. — The Drew University men's lacrosse team won the inaugural Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship and is now picked to repeat as champions as voted in the Landmark Preseason Men's Lacrosse Poll. The head men's lacrosse coaches and sports information directors at each institution that sponsors the sport were polled for the preseason ballot.

The defending champions captured every first-place vote to finish with 48 points in the balloting. The University of Scranton and Goucher College had a tight battle for the next two spots with Scranton placing second with 41 points and Goucher just three points back with 38. The United States Merchant Marine Academy rounded out the top-4 with 34 points in the voting.
