2009 NJ High School Boys' Players to Watch | LaxPower

Lacrosse News - College & High School | LaxPower: "2009 Northeast Region High School Boys' Players to Watch

Alex White, Sr., Midfield, Delbarton Green Wave, NJ (Harvard)

The Harvard recruit is an elite two-way midfielder and can change the game at both ends of the field. White scored 33 goals in '08 and led Delbarton to an 18-4 overall record and state championship appearance vs. rival Mountain Lakes. Despite some previous injury concerns, White is at the top of his class and will be part of a potent incoming freshman class at Harvard that includes Peter Berg and Jack Doyle. With White at the helm for Delbarton this season, expect his squad to once again compete for a state title.

Patrick Flynn, Sr., Mountain Lakes Lakers, NJ (Dartmouth)

Flynn was a huge factor in Mountain Lakes' 2008 state championship run and was the leader of a tough, talented defense that held teams to six or fewer goals in 14 contests. The senior is aggressive but disciplined and goes right after opposing teams' top players and isn't afraid to back down. With Flynn leading the charge once again for the Lakers, his squad has an excellent chance at making it back to the finals.

Chris LaPierre, Sr., Shawnee Renegades, NJ (Virginia)

LaPierre proved to be one of the Garden State's most prolific scorers as a junior and finished the year with 63 goals and 36 assists. The Shawnee standout is strong, physical, super athletic and has a great passion for the game. At 6-2 and 215 pounds, LaPierre often commands double teams but still excels at finding the open man or finding the back of the net, especially on transition. LaPierre – who had a record-breaking season as the starting running back on a state championship squad – will be a welcomed addition in Charlottesville in the fall.
